We are programmers, designers, hackers, makers, tinkerers, writers and artists and we want to have an impact on the community around us.
We are dedicated to using technology to solve everyday challenges that the people, non-profits, charities, schools, government and grassroots organizations of Fort Collins face.
- A starting point for newcomers to learn how to get involved or what we are about.
- A digital space for community members to track, communicate and work on issues (tasks).
- A public location to post and collaborate on organizational documents.
- If you need to get something done then simply create an issue.
- If you want to do something then tackle an issue.
- Check directories for information our strategic plan, partnerships and projects.

- Read our Code of Conduct
- Join the Fort Collins Slack Channel
- Sign up for a GitHub Account (if you don't have one) and check out or repositories. (This is one 🤓)
Check out our Project Template and read through the instructions for details on what you need to do to create a new project. For the purposes of encouraging collaboration and allowing maximum visibility into what it going within the group, when starting a new Code for Fort Collins project, the following steps should be followed:
- Assign project leads (ideally you will have at least two)
- Create a Slack channel with the name of the project
- Create a GitHub repository for the project (should match the Slack channel name)
- In that GitHub repository for that project, add the following
- a description of the project
- the leads and all people who are currently working on it
- a summary of how members can contribute
- Drop a link to the GitHub repository on the Slack channel you created in the second step
- (optional) Add a blog post announcing the project on the website
Want to contribute? We'd love your help, be sure to check out our Contributing Guidelines for instructions.
