Could you clarify or say something about contributing first and sharing functionality that is not niche or not too specific will increase input from the community.

Also, even sharing niche or specific stuff still gives others ideas to build upon your work even if they don't contribute back. We hope they do share/cite your work so you can learn from from others as well which can only happen if you share to begin with.
