First of all to get this fork working on the above environment you have to install the python-pyqt5.qtsv package

sudo apt-get install python-pyqt5.qtsv

To stop the flooding issue, replace line 102 with

    super(Seat_Window, self).__init__(None, Qt.Tool | Qt.FramelessWindowHint | Qt.WindowDoesNotAcceptFocus) # FIXME acceptfocus?  splashscreen?
