Dear Ar-Ray-code,
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss some enhancements for the [Project Name], which I believe could significantly improve its capabilities and user experience.

Firstly, I would like to propose a transition from ROS2 Foxy to ROS2 Humble for our project. The reasons for this suggestion are as follows:

New Features and Improvements: ROS2 Humble offers numerous advancements and improvements that are not available in Foxy. These enhancements could significantly benefit our project's functionality and performance.

Long-Term Support: As a more recent release, Humble will receive longer support, ensuring the project's long-term stability and maintenance.

Community and Ecosystem Alignment: Moving to Humble would align us more closely with the evolving ROS community and ecosystem, allowing us to leverage the latest developments and community support.

I understand this transition may require some adjustments to our codebase. I am fully prepared to contribute actively to this process and help resolve any compatibility issues that may arise.

In addition to the version upgrade, I would also like to suggest the implementation of an image saving feature within the project. This feature would enable users to easily capture and store images from the ROS environment, which can be invaluable for documentation, analysis, and sharing purposes.

I believe that adding this feature would not only enhance the user experience but also broaden the project's applicability and appeal to a larger audience.

I am eager to hear your thoughts on these proposals. If you are open to these changes, I am ready to begin planning for the transition and the development of the image saving feature. I am committed to assisting in every possible way to ensure a smooth and successful implementation.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I am looking forward to your positive response and any updates on this matter.

Best regards

Hello.

Thank you for your interest in this repository.
I don't plan to do a Humble update of YOLOv5-ROS at this time but I welcome suggestions for new features through pull requests.

There are two reasons.
The first is because I recognize that the performance of the more popular YOLOX-ROS is adequate and I do not feel the need to maintain it in terms of licensing.
Since YOLOv5 is several years old code, this PyTorch-native repository is outdated and should be optimized for ONNXRuntime, etc.
The second is that there are many cases of Python implementations that stop working between versions, which is a barrier to updating.

On the other hand, I have received emails from several people and I think it is possible to continue updates by enthusiastic contributors.
What is it that you want?

Thank you. I use machine translation to reply quickly.

Hello,
I wanted support for HUMBLE but understood that it would be difficult. Thank you for your consideration.
I was hoping to get photos and videos from my turtlebot camera on my ROS2 humble. And I wanted to run YOLO and ORB-SLAM. I would be grateful if you could point me to other repositories that do this.
I tried to take pictures based on what the following sites do

Thank you.
