legacy reported issue:

Customer made an observation that ProTools always scans and preserves MIDI input and MIDI output ports when ProTools is launched making it impossible to assign MIDI devices properly.

Customer suggested to create direct link to DAW for MIDI input and output instead of opening new ports. Investigate and apply!
