PasteBot

A simple Discord Bot that uses PasteMyst to paste code on https://paste.myst.rs and runs on Discord .Net 2.2.0

⚠ There is a new project going on and everything is going to change ⚠

History

I was impressed by PasteMyst and wanted to use it in my own bot for my Discord Server; the code for that was hard and the only way to get the source was Brackeys Bot. They however had their own custom code which is hard to understand, at least for beginners. So I created the most simple bot that has only one command and uses PasteMyst. There is no actual bot for this purpose however, only the source code for it. So you can feel free to fork it.

Usage

After downloading this archive, you can restore the packages if you do not have them already dotnet restore. Oh and, just make sure that you have all the required items to run this command. For example in VS Code, you will need to install .Net Runtime and the C# Extension. Then you can use dotnet run to open it. But before than, make sure that you insert your bot's token from the Discord Developer Dashboard. If you are completely new, you can check out the guide

Guide

  1. Go to the Discord Developer Dashboard
  2. Create a new application
  3. From there, go to the bot tab and create a new tab
  4. Next go to OAuth2, select bot and give it permisions
  5. Next copy the link and open it in a new tab
  6. From there add it in your server*
  7. From there, make sure that your bot is running (you can press F5 on VS 201X/Code)
  8. Enjoy and control the source code

Still need help? Ask me in the support server

*if you want to add it in a server not owned by you, make sure that you have permssion Manage Server
