The most recent release of ACCESS-OM3 (2025.01.0) used quite an old version of spack-packages (specifically 2024.07.08). Since that version, we have added -fp-model precise to the ESMF compiler flags in the access-om3-nuopc package. This does change answers.

Shall we do a release of ACCESS-OM3 that includes this change before some of the more major upcoming changes (I'm thinking of #34 and #41)

Sorry for missing this!

Is there a particular need for a release with just this ?

I hope to have the oneapi (#41) stuff resolved with a week or so, that would also capture the new spack-packages version

Only that it's a trivial update that does change answers. Will make repro testing more meaningful.

No apologies! @chrisb13 and I both reviewed and missed this too.

We could use a dev branch in this repo to stage releases, so that incrementally changes that don't warrant a release get captured. (More relevant once there are more spack components).

Sure, I'm happy with that. I'll start a dev branch and PR for the next release.

ADDED: PR is here #61

Should this be on the om3 025 project board? (Currently is not.)

I think it's implicitly captured through #41
