  • The MasterCatalog is a repository were all data-sources ilwis has ‘seen’ are registered
  • A Catalog is a representation of the content of a data-source that holds other data that can be represented as Ilwis-Objects.
  • A CatalogView is basically a query on the mastercatalog that results in a set of data sources. This (sub) set can be viewed as a 'Catalog like' object and used as such.
  • Resources are references to data-sources that can be represented as Ilwis-objects
